Creston Dog Park

A family-favorite spot, Creston dog park is a well-maintained and friendly off-leash area in Southeast Portland. The park has two seasonal dog parks, with an extra-shaded one just for the summer months. Fresh water and bathrooms are also close by.
Play Features
The primary unfenced off-leash area is an open grassy field in the center of the park. Despite not the being biggest dog park in the area, it’s plenty large enough for fetch and social play. And a slight slope increases the degree of difficulty.
In contrast, the summer off-leash area is secluded in a quaint little valley down by the swimming pool. Though it also has an open space, much of it is covered by large tress, so it’s very shaded. Just what the dog-tor ordered for the hot season.
You’ll find steel trash cans at each off-leash area. And there’s a silver water fountain with attached doggy bowl is next to the main bathrooms and kids playground. It’s a little trek from the summer dog park, but still within reach.
Dog park not doing it for you? Take a stroll along the paved walking paths instead.
Park Vibes
Creston dog park is nice place to spend an afternoon with your pup. Things are chill during the week, but the park gets pretty hoppin’ on the weekends. The off-leash sits next to a kids playground; however the summer one is much .
Have a seat on one of the benches or picnic tables throughout the park. Or bring a picnic blanket and hang out under the large fir trees. And because dogs aren’t the only ones who need to relieve themselves, this park has two separate bathroom locations.
Easy Access
If you’re driving, the entrance to this park can be a little tricky to find. To park in the lot, turn onto SE Rhone St from 42nd Ave., and you’ll find parking spaces on SE 43rd Ave. The off-leash area is beyond the rows of picnic tables. Otherwise, you can park on SE Francis St. and enter via SE 45th Ave. or SE 47th Ave.
Mud Factor
The grass is a little spotty, which means it can get slightly muddy in places. Fortunately, the off-leash area is positioned at the top of the park, so water doesn’t collect all that much.
