Luuwit View Dog Park

One of the best dog parks with a view in Portland, Luuwit View has it all. Not only is the off-leash area completely fenced in, but it also has fresh water, plenty of room to roam, good surfaces for all seasons, and a parking lot. And did we mention the view?
Play Features
This Northeast Portland dog park has two surfaces for your dog to play on: gravel on the upper part and grass that slopes down toward the main park. There’s lots of room to run around, and this can be a great spot for social play when it’s busier. Your dog will also enjoy sniffing all of the bushes, shrubs, and trees around the park.
There’s one working water spout inside the off-leash area. A second spout seems to have been out of commission for some time.
Park Vibes
Come for the puppy playtime, stay for the view. You can see Mt. St. Helens and the southern Cascades from the dog park. Relax on the benches or patio chairs and watch the planes as they descend into PDX. People are friendly, and it’s easy to strike up a conversation with fellow dog lovers.
The park is fairly open, but a few trees do provide shade in the evenings. Sunset is a great time to savor the sky’s changing colors while your dog delights in being off leash.
Easy Access
You can typically find parking in the lot off Fremont. Enter from either NE 127th Ave. or NE 129th Ave. Don’t mind the “Dead End” sign—that’s where you’ll pull in to the parking lot. You can also easily access the dog park from NE Beech St.
Both dog park entrances are double-gated with trash cans outside. One is near the parking lot entrance and the other near NE Beech St.
Mud Factor
Luuwit View dog park holds up pretty well year-round. Because of its gravel and sloping grass design, the off-leash area doesn’t get too muddy in the rainy season.
