Gabriel dog park summer is a fenced off-leash area in Southwest Portland, OR.

If it’s summer and you’re in Southwest Portland, then Gabriel dog park is a must. The off-leash area is not only completely fenced in, but it also has water, a big open space to play, lots of dogs, and a parking lot. Is this Portland’s best summer dog park?

Play Area

Gabriel’s summer dog park is an expansive space, with grassy hills that lead down to an open field. There’s room to run, and this is one of the best dog parks for social play. Fresh running water is available from a spout inside the off-leash area by the tennis court.

Park Vibes

This dog park is lively and a whole lotta fun. Peak times are in the evenings, but you can pretty much always find a good number of pups to play with. A number of trees guarantee good shade areas in the afternoon, and you can park it on one of the patio tables or chairs while your pup has the best time ever.

If the off-leash area isn’t quite your dog’s thing, there are some beautiful walking trails all throughout the park. They will have you feeling as though you’re in the forest. Highly recommended.

Easy Access

Parking is convenient with a decently sized parking lot off SW 45th Ave. Pull in right at SW Nevada St., and the dog park’s on the right. Gabriel Park has several other parking options, including at the playground. Take the scenic route on your way to puppy playtime next time—it’s worth it.

There’s only one entrance to the fenced off-leash area, and it’s right off the parking lot. Keep in mind that it’s single-gated, so take care when entering the off-leash area.

Mud Factor

It’s all in the name. Gabriel Summer is the perfect park for your energetic pup when it’s not raining. No mud to worry about here. Be sure to check out the Gabriel Park’s winter dog park during the rainy season.
