Chimney Dog Park

Situated in the St. Johns neighborhood, Chimney has the largest fenced dog park in Portland. This huge off-leash area includes a spacious open field, a walking loop, big shade tress, and pups of all shapes and sizes.
Play Features
If your dog needs room to zoom, Chimney’s off-leash area has you covered with over two football fields’ worth of space. The enclosed park is separated into two areas by a partial fence, with large trees dotting the front section, and an open space on the other side. Walk the loop around the enclosure, hang out and socialize, play fetch—there’s room for it all.
Although there are some water bowls and coolers around the park, this park is BYOW (bring your own water).
Park Vibes
Rain or shine, Chimney dog park is pretty much always busy. Dogs come from all over the region to let loose in the fully fenced off-leash area. There are a few picnic tables placed around the off-leash area, and the big trees provide welcome shade in the summer heat. People are friendly, and the park has a good regular crowd.
Easy Access
The park entrance is off N Columbia Blvd., though it can be little difficult to see, especially if you’re coming from the north. Once you pull in, stay right to park. The lot is on the smaller side, so spots might not always be immediately available. There’s a double gated entrance and trash can off the parking lot, and another entrance farther up the path.
Feel like walking? You can also get to there from nearby Pier Park via a pedestrian bridge.
Mud Factor
The surface can get pretty rugged in spots during the wetter months, so watch out for holes. But even though the off-leash area (and the parking lot) can become a mud fest when it rains, it’s still plenty worth it—just bring some towels to clean your pup off before getting back in your car.
