Lents Dog Park

Lents in Southeast Portland is a chill spot to let your pup run free. Featuring a spout with fresh water, friendly parkgoers, and a nice walking path around the main park, this park is a nice change-up from the more popular dog parks in the area. Plus, you can take your dog a Portland Pickles game in the summer!
Play Features
The unfenced off-leash area sits next to the community garden in southwest corner of the park. Though on the smaller side, the dog park is open and provides plenty of room to run or play fetch. There’s an easily operated spout with fresh water and a steel trash can. You can also find a bathroom near the kids playground.
Lents Park is also home to the Portland Pickles baseball team. Games are a blast, and doggy tickets are only $5, except on Wednesdays when pups get in free.
Park Vibes
Lents is one of Portland’s most happening public spaces. Whether it’s soccer, softball, or ultimate frisbee, there’s usually a game being played on the main fields, particularly on the weekends. The off-leash area, on the other hand, is a chill space perfect for a no-distractions game of fetch, and neighborhood dog owners are friendly. A handful of large trees are well positioned to provide good shade in the summer, making this a good spot to hang out on those hotter days.
If the dog park is a little too quiet, you and your pup can mosey around the half-mile-long wood-chip trail encircling much of the park.
Easy Access
Park right next to the off-leash area in the small parking lot at the corner of SE Steele St. at SE 88th Ave. or in one of the parallel spaces on SE 88th. Ave. There’s also plenty of free street parking and lots all around the park.
Mud Factor
The grass at Lents dog park is somewhat sparse, so it can get a little muddy after a good rain. However, compared to other off-leash areas, it holds up pretty well.
