Fernhill Dog Park

One of the top dog parks in all of Portland, Fernhill has everything your pup could want for a good time. The sizable unfenced off-leash area combines open and shaded spaces, there’s lots of activity, and a doggy water fountain is not far from the off-leash area.
Play Features
Fernhill dog park is expansive, covering nearly five acres of diverse terrain. Play under the shady tree canopy or chase the ball in one of the various open stretches. There’s a ton of interesting sniffing opportunities, and your pup will have plenty of dogs to socialize with during peak times. There’s so much space that even when it gets really busy, you can still find room to do your own thing.
A silver water fountain is located west of the dog park next to the bathrooms. There’s a bowl for the dogs; just press the button and the water flows. A green trash can sits near NE 41st Ave. and another’s by the watering hole.
Park Vibes
This well-tended off-leash area is a treat for pups and humans alike. The dog park picks up in the afternoons, and weekends are a hoot. Your dog will not only make plenty of new pals, but you’ll also meet friendly and responsible dog owners. And it’s a lovely place to bring a blanket and chill in the grass when the weather’s nice.
Easy Access
Getting to the dog park is a piece of cake. Park right next to the off-leash area on NE 41st Ave. or NE Holman St.
Mud Factor
Because the majority of the off-leash area is covered with large trees, the ground stays in fairly good shape throughout the rainy months. However, the open areas can get pretty soggy.
