Play Features
Having a completely fenced dog park in Northwest Portland is a big deal. There’s more than enough space for some good Chuckit! fun, and this is a great spot for your dog to unleash all that pent-up energy. What’s more, there’s a reliable water spout inside the the off-leash area.
Park Vibes
Wallace dog park sees a pretty steady flow of doggie traffic, with the busiest times being weeknight evenings. Park goers are friendly, and it’s easy to make new puppy connections. A big open baseball field sits next to the dog park, and a basketball court and kids playground are also nearby.
After playtime at the dog park, check out one of the many great dog-friendly restaurants and bars just a couple of blocks over on NW 23rd Ave., including the Nob Hill Food Carts, Life of Pie, and McMenamins Pool and Tavern, just to name a few.
Easy Access
Wallace Park is very walkable from anywhere in the Alphabet District, Slabtown, and The Pearl. Street parking is available on and around NW 25th Ave, but keep in mind that it’s paid until 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Mud Factor
Despite the wood chips, the center of the off-leash area can get really muddy in the rainy season. But don’t worry: there’s still plenty of dry surface for your dog to boogie on. It’s also a great place to visit when it snows.
